OK, round two of the email cj ....Liz's "Focus" LO ... and my version "Too Far? Amazing how the same basic positioning can look so different, isn't it?

Saturday, January 09, 2010

"Erewhon" is my version of a LO that was a class by Tracey Oakes in a recent CC on UKS. The "Schwedagon" LO is my scraplift of my LO ... there's complicated for you! ... which is to be my 1st email scraplift LO for an "email cj". I hope my fellow cjers like it.

A sort of "blendy-collagy" thingy ... experimenting with how to blend piccies into each other ... not too sure how best to do it, but I'm getting there .. I think!!

These are my contributions to the "Fairy Door" swap on UKS.
Gossamer's Gateway ... papier mache, Angel Hair, lustre paints and a butterfly:
Peri's Palace .... an embedded transparency from a brooch, clear glaze to make the window, paints and Stickles to make the "jewells":
Fuegon's Forge .... a gnome's door .. card covered in heat treated copper sheet to get a blend of colours, inscribed and treated with alcohol inks.
I hope they will be OK .. I enjoyed making them.

This is my returned jiggy .... one more piece to come but otherwise complete.
I LOVE IT ... so many different interpretations of Native American ... and such care and attention given to each piece. THANK YOU LADIES.

This is the "page" I have made for Gill ... entitled "Home".

It's based on a Google Earth map ... though that is a bit vague now ... made of silk and metallic fabrics, beads and cotton perle threads, with a few viscose/lace motifs.

A couple of times the kind people who have left comments for me have asked if the piccy could be a bit bigger ..... this one is, so is that better?

Another Artarazzi challenge, this time courtesy of Faye .. thank you.
Somehow I can never seem to get past Van Gogh when I see sunflowers ... maybe because he painted so many pictures of them!!!
I extracted some leaves and parts of the flower for this one .. added a shadow to give some depth and then ... well, then my silly side took over!!!!

It's that time again .. another challenge from http://artarazzi.blogspot.com/ this time from Kelly, thanks for the inspiration. The empty ladder immediately made me want to fill it ...though not climb it personally as I am scared stiff of heights!!!!
The legs are from my "this is interesting" stash and the shards of glass are homemade in PSE4.

Whoa ... these challenges come around sooooo fast!!! Or maybe I'm getting too slow?
This is another Artarazzi challenge ... "You Give Me Fever" - a modern miss in a very modern stance!!.
I made a porcelain doll costumed as Morgana La Fay .. with a very similar stance ...hence the Medieval take on this one. The emblems on her sleeves and the stars either side of alLure spell out L in semaphore ..thanks to the arm placement .. so that gave me the title and "feel" too.

Another week, another Artarazzi challenge ... entitled Moon.
I have added a halo to the moon, coloured and layered the child and written a little ditty to tell her tale.
Edited to show verse.
verse reads:-The moon looked sad and it seemed to me, that he would like some company, So I took the lantern and a candle, but dropped them both when I broke the handle, So now the moon is sad AND blue, and, like him, I feel that way too!

Time for another challenge from Artarazzi ... this one is a fingerprint!!

I was wondering what I could do, not getting very far and probably slightly day-dreaming when I started to see depth in the print. Isobars on weather maps? Contour lines on maps? A tunnel? !! yeah!

So here is my tunnell/hole - tree rings and all ... being explored by an intrepid team of ashbseilers.

I think it must be an age thing .. but don't the weeks just fly by? !!

This is another challenge from Artarazzi ... a rusty, rivited outlet.
As soon as I saw it I could see a face in the pattern of rust ...but
who's was it? And then it hit me .. Darth Vader!! Hence the ATC ...
and the pun on the name. (sorry!)

Another page for the same cj .. this time for Chrissie .. entitled Mermaid (now I wonder why!!!)

The background was supplied and inspired a watery theme ... the mermaid is made of Angelina and fabric paints, some with a mettalic element. The "pearls" are sequins sewn down with pearlised thread, and two outline embroidered fish keep her company. The water weed is braid and feather stitch and a few strands of Angelina over the top finish it off.

This is my page in the Spontaneous Fabric cj , made for Sarah and entitled We Are One.
The background is metallic silk; I joined two pictures and used a filter on them to give the You/Me image. The knotted braid is handmade and the piece of silk brocade is held down with Guilloche embroidery.

Another week gone and it's time for the next challenge from http://artarazzi.blogspot.com/ .... the children were taken from a advertisement .... and I have extracted them in three sets, added colour and wings and foisted them on this poor fox!!!

Last set!! These are for me .. Native Americans .... Hopi in fact. The stamp is of three Kachina dolls and I have masked some of them to give a variety of placements. The photos were trimmed and shaped and I have added feathers and chain to echo the photos.

I am pleased with the results of my first "Deco" page swap .. I hope my fellow swappees are too.

Only two sets to go now ... this one is Vintage Ladies .. for Sheila.
The first one has a genuine stamp ... although it is a masked version of a larger one ... placed vertically on the side. The photo is an old postcard of real people .. unfortunately I don't know who they are, but I think they look like three generations of the same family ..... and the lace and background are digi.
The second one uses a "brackets" stamp to enclose the photo .. also a postcard ... with the rest digi plus a marker pen vine overlaid with Glossy Accents.
